Watchkeeper Pat Parker explaining our activitiesDavid Evans, our Public Relations officer, arranged for us to have a stand at the Mumbles Navy Days held at Southend (the name given to the area from near the end of the Bowling Green to just beyond Knab rock) during the late May bank holiday weekend. Several watch keepers gave up some more of their valuable time to represent us and they were able to provide visitors with an up to date overview of our operations, describe some of the 28 incidents we have been involved with so far and discuss the watch keeping role with potential volunteers.

Other organisations representing the search and rescue community included the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the RNLI and the Air Ambulance.  The Royal Navy was represented at Southend by a Royal Marines recruiting unit, by HMS Middleton moored in Swansea's Prince of Wales Dock and HMS Exploit berthed at Swansea Marina.
