Worm’s Head NCI is indeed fortunate to have the support and goodwill of the people and businesses of Gower. The Lookout has recently received the donation of a pair of Helios 5 Observational Binoculars from the Oxwich Bay Hotel.
The owner, Ian Williams, said [in his own words] “he was just pleased to be able to help in order for you to continue operating”. Oxwich Bay Hotel is only a few (coastal) miles walk from Worm’s Head and a favourite destination for visitors and locals alike – and Worm’s Head is one of the local landmarks that Ian’s guests often visit as well.
The Station Manager, Andy Bowen, invited Ian, his family and guests to the Lookout for a formal presentation of the binoculars on a rainy and blustery Saturday, 8th December. Our guests were shown round the Lookout, met the Duty Watchkeepers and had the opportunity to try out the binos in their new operational home. It was a bit crowded, but we managed to squeeze everybody in!
The photographs say it all.
