The Loughor Inshore Lifeboat is not supported by the RNLI but is one of the few lifeboats nationwide funded entirely by local voluntary contributions.
|The present lifeboat is nearing the end of its ten year lifespan and for the past few years fund raising has concentrated on raising the money for a replacement boat. One of the main fund raising events of the year is the regatta and this year, as last, NCI Worms Head was invited to set up a stand in support of the event.
The day is always a lively one with contributions from the Loughor Town Band, the Air Cadets Band, numerous side shows and stalls, stilt walkers, boat rides and demonstration rescues by the Loughor Inshore Lifeboat and crew.
